The Beautiful Hill

This past weekend I was out in Loma Linda for a wedding. It was lovely to see dear friends and reconnect with people. There is never enough time and I didn't get to see everyone, but I enjoyed the time I had. Sabbath afternoon I so enjoyed hiking into the hills--I finally saw how this place was named...those hills are gorgeous after a bit of rain :) Spent some time with Miriam and Ted. Love them!!!!!!!

Sunday with the Shetler Clan

The day started out with a fabulous run followed by an amazing breakfast of biscuits and gravy. Later on there was gardening, biking, reading, neighbor kids, and Mexican food. The beautiful quilt was made by my Aunt Pauline. The picture of the sign was taken by Daniel and the mud print was Caleb's contribution to the gardening effort.

Springing Spring

This Sabbath I got to visit my Virginia family. It seems overnight, spring has appeared. The trees are budding and the spring peepers were a deafening roar down by the pond where we took a walk. There are three dogs that that are part of the Shetler Clan: Goliath: the aptly named giant mastiff, Bronco: the ruddy, spangled Spaniel who can't get enough attention, and Reese: the adorable, chocolate, high-energy puppy.

Even though, Joel is in constant motion, he was my best subject. We had a good time walking through a quaint meadow bordering Monticello as the sun began to set. I told aunt Tanya that all we needed was some fog to make the scene complete.

the little things

It is with great fondness that I recall my nannying days. I just love those precious kids and now I miss them. These photos were taken on my last day with two sweet little girls on a cold December morning. It started with a nutritious breakfast of frosted mini wheats. Later there was crawling practice, the sighting of a cardinal outside, of course lots of little hand prints on the windows, happy smiles, and bright colors. It's the little things that make a day like this, special.
